This beautiful morning of Saturday, December December 2009, we have gathered near the town of Segovia Prádena Chus, Ana, Antonio (Cherokee), Roberto (Coldmeat) and Juande to undertake the ascent to the summit canopies. This vertex, located at 1833 meters high, is considered by some authors as the ultimate or most easterly of the Guadarrameñas heights, and of course the most representative of this rope before its completion at the Port of Somosierra.
do not make the climb more classical, which would pass through the port of Hollin, but ascended a forest track approach, which starts from the same road N-110, east of the town of Prádena.
This track is in excellent condition, low levels evolves in the dream through ancient oak and juniper trees, their lowest levels that derive from precious prints.
Halfway up goes into a thick pine forest restocking with us to the summit, which is pretty odd sight holly.
The track gradually wears off over 700 meters of altitude and left us in the same string of these mountains, in a very nice and cozy colladito situated between Rock Skunk and canopies, where we a short stop to take some nuts and exchange views on the rise.
Now we only avanzanzando would follow the rope to the base of the hill atop which stands the top canopies.
The latest trouble in store for us last short but extremely strong zeta ramps would leave us very blunt and open the top of canopies, which move the final meters under a bright winter sun, which we appreciate, and that will bring a bright landscape and special, with a nice picture of the snowy peaks of the rope closest to Peñalara chairing the horizon, and an extraordinary plateau overlooking the side Segovia.
Once at the top, we enjoyed superb views to the Madrid side, who left us in the retina of a complete panoramic view from the Sierra de La Cabrera to Navacerrada, including spotted Madrid skyscraper. We also had occasion to chat and share views with a hiker who enjoyed the splendid day at the summit.
And of course, after leave of the solitary walker, we were able to complete the search cache, and proceed to sign the appropriate log book.
completed the route down forcefully by a firewall which had to control every step, but in return gave us an excellent overview of Prádena, many feet below our feet.
After about 400 meters down "sharply" by the firewall we could connect with some mushrooms that were more pleasant descent to link back to the main track, to the point of departure after just over 5 hours of walking.
How could it be otherwise, we completed the day enjoying an excellent roast lamb in the restaurant "The Three Brothers' Prádena, where we shared a table with Fernando (mouse), Fernando (Cimy Lahoon) and family, JuanMa, Noelia, Naomi and the corresponding small fry that day and wanted to share a table with us.
