Castril (formerly known as Castril de la Peña) is an Andalusian town that retains all the charm of this land. During the day Sunday, May 23, 2010, we had occasion to visit this town in the agenda II Rural City Event Blog Cazorla, organized by our friend Abraham López Moreno, creator of several rural blogs, most notably "Pan Cazorlense."

Castril The town lies at the foot of a steep rock, the rock the Sacred Heart, crowned as its name suggests an image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus . The population draws a picture of the hive picturesque white houses climbing through the side of this rock.

It is already remarkable preservation of the harmony in the urban architecture of whitewashed houses and white Andalusian-style. Some of them especially noted for its original ornamentation.

Castril likewise offers us the opportunity to enjoy an unforgettable walk along the River Canyon Castril, which passes through the town sets up a spectacular gorge.

has enabled a wooden walkway on one side of the canyon, allowing us to safely explore this unique place.

The tour also offers us a bold step while fun, having to cross from one side of the river by a very narrow metal bridge consistency.

End week from 21 to 23 May 2010 we were able to enjoy attending the Event Blog II Cazorla Rural City organized by our friend and collaborator Abraham López Moreno, creator of the blog Panoramic Cazorlense.

Among the activities proposed in this event, we have enjoyed as a main dish of the day on Saturday from a 4x4 route through the Sierra de Cazorla with start and end in the small village of Cuenca, near Pozo Alcon, which could also enjoy a special breakfast with typical products of the region in rural inn hotel Casería 7 sources.

At around 8:25 pm we set off on board the two Land Rover Defender driven by Pedro and Angel, two exceptional guides who know all the details, places and landscapes of this beautiful park of the Sierra de Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas, with which we enjoy sharing good conversation and, above all, of which we learn many curious on this rural setting.

Once in place by asphalt in the direction of Quesada, a right we take our main forest track in good condition signposted River Birth Guadalquivir. The track evolves from Aleppo pines without major complications and overcoming moderate slopes.

Turning now our journey toward the source of the river Guadalquivir. The place has a great beauty and had the opportunity to enjoy moments of relaxation and enjoyment in the beautiful recreation area enabled on this site, which fortunately are very quiet.

Regarding the Birth of the Guadalquivir River itself, the highlight is that we were lucky to find it flowing with spring water originates, largely thanks to the good rainfall this year , which is difficult to find in other dry seasons.
