The Black Lagoon is a stunning glacial lake located in the countryside of Sierra de Urbión in Pine County, Soria, near the town of Vinuesa.
This Saturday, November 28, 2008, I did not miss the chance alongside Juan Felix, Pili, David, Raquel, Paco, Maria Jose, Antonio, Rosario, Luis, Sonia and Miguel to visit this unique place, leveraging our weekend stay in the bee population, Soria.
The approach towards the Black Lagoon is done by car from the village of Vinuesa along a forest track paved and in good general condition, it moves between the populated pine stain winning drop forcefully for these slopes of the Picos de Urbión.
After running about 11 km from Vinuesa, we reached the parking and main control point where we parked the vehicles and began the journey on foot.
Although this part runs on a tarmac, during this short journey of about 2 km you can enjoy the beautiful landscape that gives the bed of the Arroyo de la Laguna Negra, which runs our left between a spectacular beech that fosters this shady area.
On one side of the road soon find ourselves with a single copy of yew of great age, and size extremely attractive.
In front soon began to make out the cliffs that circumscribe the margins of the Black Lagoon, in glacial cirque that gave it birth.
At the end of the paved road begins in the last part of the approach, which begins a path well defined vayada and advancing avoiding the huge blocks of rock that the advance of glacial moraine primordial scattered around the place .
Once we reached the lake, the view that gives us the place of the dark waters cloistered among prominent cliffs is quite spectacular, unique and unforgettable.
continue for a few meters the trail around the lake on the left, and now advanced by the place especially beautiful in the snow that covered him and the faint mist which gave an air of mystery.
Soon we reached a small bridge that fords the course of a spectacular waterfall, which in turn leads to the gate or channel which serves as a natural step climb to the top of the cliffs and continue the march toward the summit of Pico Urbión.
The presence of ice at the gate made us ask our tour finish here, giving us very satisfied with the pleasant experience of visiting this place we had been led.
To end the morning, we could not do better shape than mycological tasting the delicious cuisine of the region in the Restaurant "Hachero" in the town of Navaleno, where we gave a good account of a succulent servings of grilled mushrooms, the milk caps, and eggplant stuffed with mushrooms, finished with outstanding beef steaks that have brought us lunch is hard to beat.
